Happy Publication Day to BARRICADE!

photo (6)We had a hugely successful launch for Jon Wallace’s debut, Barricade, last night at Forbidden Planet.

Kicking off at 6pm with a small crowd of people already waiting the signing went through to after seven with a steady stream of people. Forbidden Planet had ordered 100 copies of the TPB and sold out on the night. Thanks, by the way, to the two excellent latecomers who arrived to snaffle the last two copies that were beginning to look a bit lonely on the signing table. This was only the second time Forbidden Planet have had a debut title sell out at its launch event so kudos to Jon for that

The crowd was large, chatty and friendly and we were very happy to see other authors turning up to join in the fun; Emma Swift and Lavie Tidhar  and from Gollancz fellow debut novelists Den Patrick and Edward Cox. It’s entirely possible that after the signing we all went to the pub. There may have been beer…

We’re pretty sure Jon had a good time and his agent, Ed Wilson, was smiling.

Many thanks to Sophie Calder for organising last night, to Jen for getting the buzz going, to Marcus for coming along to help with the authors and to Danie Ware at Forbidden Planet for her, as always, sterling efforts. And thanks, of course, to everyone who came and made Jon’s launch such a happy event.

For those of you not able to make the launch yesterday we’ve got a sneak peek for you here on the blog. And don’t forget you can download your e-book copy of Barricade from your favourite e-tailer for just £1.99. Be quick our offer expires at midnight on the 26th June.
